Commandment 7

Old Covenant Command

"Thou shalt not commit adultery." Exodus 20:14

New Covenant Equivalent

Do not lust:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:27-28, NIV).

Do not divorce or marry someone who is divorced:

“It was said also, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: but I say unto you, that every one that putteth away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, maketh her an adulteress: and whosoever shall marry her when she is put away committeth adultery" (Matthew 5: 31-32, ASV).

"He [Jesus] answered, 'Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery'” (Mark 10:11-12, NIV).
